Better than it looked!

I ordered after researching several rocker/gliders. I loved the sleigh style and cherry color. It matched with the rest of my son's nursery but ultimately, I purchased this one based on the total price. Could not find anything comparable at this price point! I was a little concerned about how comfortable it would be and not being able to test it out prior to buying it. I was pleasantly surprised! It arrived as promised. I put it together by myself in about 15 minutes. (34 Weeks pregnant at the time). Love this product so much, can't wait for my son to arrive to rock him in this awesome glider!

Big Girl Bed
By martha
I purchased the DaVinci Sleigh Toddler Bed for my great-granddaughter. She is one and a half years old. She loves the bed and says it is her "big girl bed". Her dad said it went together without any problems. Mom and Dad love the look and feel of the wood. It is sturdy for a toddler bed. It sets close to the floor and my great-granddaughter can easily get in and out of it without help. I would suggest this product to anyone looking for a transition toddler bed. We love it.

I did a review on this when I first got it almost two years ago, and I need to review it again. We LOVE LOVE LOVE this crib. Our house is small with small rooms, so the size is perfect. It is sturdy, and I was able to put it together by myself when I was very pregnant. I must say I never had a "mini baby" in it (he was a nice sturdy 8.5 lbs) and now is a sturdy, active 18mo old who still fits in this crib very well...and will for quite some time, hopefully! It has held up to his abuse - kicking his lights and sound machine up and down the main rail, biting the sides when teething, etc...and it still looks great (with bite marks, of course). You DO need the thicker mattress for sure. I'm about to order another mini crib for Baby #2!

Lovely crib; excellent value
By Wally Bee
I am so pleased with this crib. We are expecting our third boy in April and didn't want to rush our two year old out of his regular sized crib, so purchased this Emily crib in white. It is sturdy, solid, and elegant. It takes up so much less space than the standard North American-sized crib, and my two year old could comfortably sleep in it on the lowest mattress setting (he's 75th percentile for height). The standard cribs are enormous for infants - both times it took effort for my two oldest boys to transition from their cozy bassinet to the vastness of their crib; I expect/hope it will be less of an issue with this crib. It looks better in real-life than it does in the photos. The screws & holes are not covered for safety purposes, but overall this doesn't detract from the appearance too much and this is probably less obvious with the darker colored cribs. The mattress pad that comes with it would actually work just fine with the crib - really the bigger mattress is overkill but we have it anyway (the Crescent 50 coil mini crib mattress fits perfectly and will be especially nice when we're at the toddler stage). The mattress pad just doesn't look as pretty as the mattress. My only real complaint is that the assembly instructions are poorly written. Absolutely satisfied with this crib - excellent quality for the price.

Excellent crib
By Anand Yeleti
I have no words to praise this little rocking crib. My 5 month old son loves it. Initially we brought it with the intention of rocking him to sleep in the process of transitioning him from rocking in our arms (where he would wake up upon putting him down in crib) to a crib. Our plan of sleep training was to rock him initially and then gradually decrease the intensity & frequency and finally make him sleep without any rocking. Believe me, the sleep training was such a breeze with this crib. Also in the middle of the night, if he wakes up and moves, the crib would start to rock by itself and he goes off to sleep again without us waking up to rock him. Gradually we decreased the rocking intensity and now he needs no rocking at all. How much I wish such a crib is made in the standard size than as a mini crib where he can use it for many more years. Agree that getting bedding for this crib is tough, but that does not decrease our votes for this wonderful crib. All in all, we all love this mini rocking crib.

Loved this crib!

Love this crib! What I like most is the shape of the front panel, the way it curves downward. Since dropside cribs are no good, this is the next best thing for someone short like me (5' 3"). There are three different (or maybe 4, I forget) levels for the mattress and by the time your little one is big enough to drop it all the way to the bottom level, it gets hard to reach down into it. That dip in the front is helpful to reach down to the bottom and get a child who isn't terribly interested in standing up and helping a mom out. She is going to be 3 in a month and we are still using the crib. She seems perfectly happy in there but soon we will convert the crib into the toddler bed with the rail. I love that it is convertible and we will get several years use out of it. I fill the drawer under the crib with extra bedding. It is quite roomy. This was a great purchase and not bad to put together either (at least from my perspective watching my husband do it all himself!)

The barrel locks make all the difference
By digital.maverick
This product came in a 70 or so pound package from my UPS guy. I had to go outside and help him as it is a two man lift box, though not overly heavy, just large and awkward. The product is well insulated however, and despite some dings on the package, the wood was unharmed.

The product pieces were all there, and the instructions were simple to understand. The wood is beautiful and of good quality, and everything is assembled by pressure via barrel locks instead of your cheap ass cam locks that normally come with assembled furniture. As a result, the several boneheaded mistakes that I made (make sure on the sides of the headboard the spring holes are facing inwards.... doh) were easy to fix. It can also be disassembled for moving or to move it downstairs, which I will eventually do, without losing intactness or structure. Just make sure you don't overtighten anything, it is a study product without doing so and you will decrease your usability or damage the wood. The mattress spring is pretty low even at it's highest position, and has several more rungs down to go before it outlives it's usefulness. Even then, it can be converted into a toddler bed or a headboard and foot board with some additional parts. It is rather large and safe looking and looks great in our bedroom. It will be bittersweet to move our son from his bassinet to this crib but at least I can do it with confidence.

Pretty Crib!
By nicolebuzz
I couldn't find a lot of reviews on this crib online, but I took my chances and ordered it in white. One of the things that I love about this crib is that there are no screw holes on the front of the crib. When I went shopping for cribs one of the biggest issues I found was that it would be a nice design and then you would see ugly silver screw holes. The fact that this crib also includes a toddler rail in part of the price is a big plus. My husband put it together very easily. The only drawback I can see (as other reviews have mentioned) is that the paint can be scratched easily, but the wood itself is very sturdy.

Good stuff
By Mark my Words

This crib is well made, with quality hardware and very nice fit. I've seen cribs for twice the money that are of comparable quality. I do think it is made of pine, rather than a hardwood so it will ding somewhat more easily than, say, oak. But, you're not going to be playing basketball on it, so that should be fine. Assembly is very straightforward but as mentioned by others, some bolts are provided with exactly the number needed so try not to lose anything during assembly. There is a nice pouch under the base to hide the instructions for later use. It is made in Taiwan, not mainland China, in case that matters to you.

Some reviews made me concerned that it was, in fact, painted rather than stained. I can assure you that it is stained and the grain shows through nicely even with the espresso finish.

The base crib comes with all that you need to convert it to a toddler bed. You'll need to find some space to store the extra pieces for a few years. I also decided to get the conversion pieces to make it into a full bed. I do recommend that you do this. Who knows where this manufacturer will be when you decide to convert it.

From other reviews, it sounds like the dressers and other pieces that match the crib are (1) not manufactured by the same company (2) of inferior quality. I decided to stay away from that stuff. The good news is that the toddler bed conversion has a couple of small pieces of finished wood you can take with you furniture shopping locally if you like to match the espresso finish.

Nothing bad about these minis
By TwinsDad
Sunnyvale, CA |
Searched online for days for mini cribs. There are minis that fold in half for storage, minis that turn into toddler beds, minis that look cool but don't do anything else but empty your wallet, and there are these from DaVinci that turn into regular beds for less than a hundred bucks. Although still limited on shape and color we opted for the Annabelle because we dislike the old curvy traditional look. Annabelle is the only mini/full size conversion that had somewhat contemporary/modern lines that was reasonably priced. I figure I could respray them a cool funkier color once the twins are older and using the regular bed. Why spend the money on a crib, then a toddler bed, then a full size when you can go this route and after they grow out of the crib put them straight into something that will last them most of their childhood. Newborns don't need that much room and unless your baby is already 38" long, which I doubt, the mini is plenty of room. Parents always opt for the standard because 1) they never heard of a mini 2) they think babies need 5 feet of space to grow 3) space or money isn't an issue. The finish on these minis look good and not cheap. But be careful when assembling it does scratch very easily. Even your finger nails will leave a scratch. The pad that comes with the crib isn't a mattress!! I don't know why reviewers even complain about using it. I bought the LA Baby 3" mattresses and they're plenty firm. Again, a 5" mattress is overkill. Your looking for a firm mattress not the thickest one and thick doesn't always equate to firmness. Also with the 5" mattress your just raising their reach that much higher when they start to stand up. Along with the LA Baby organic mattress pad and LA Baby compact knitted sheets everything was a perfect fit.

Classic!
By Valerie Brady
I wanted a simple, classic looking crib for my daughter's nursery. This crib is perfect. I've been very pleased!

What I love:
-The crib has a fixed side rail (which is now required by law)
-The mattress has a spring support underneath rather than a piece of plywood
-It was VERY easy to assemble
-Very affordable!
-Converts to toddler bed

I wish the toddler rail DaVinci Jenny Lind Toddler Bed Conversion Kit- White was included, but the crib is so affordable that I was able to overlook it being sold separately.

We use this crib with Naturepedic No Compromise Organic Cotton Classic 252 Crib Mattress and it fits perfectly, no gaps at all between the bed rails & mattress!

Happy with our decision
By Matt

We researched cribs for a few weeks. I took a chance on this Jayden model after reading good reviews from many sites. Assembly was as expected and took about an hour with two people (taking our time and double checking each step). Finished product is impressive and very sturdy. Color being black makes matching it with other furniture easier. One of the main factors in our decision was many of the conversion cribs seemed to have exposed screw heads on the front making it look cheaper. The Jayden keeps most screws hidden adding to the appearance. I think most would be happy with this crib, especially if you find a coupon code like I did. Time will tell but we are happy so far. Please note: Box will be heavy (+/- 80 lbs) and awkward for one person to move. Have some help!

Great crib
By Fernando
Really good value for money.

The crib is very well built, and not too hard to assembly. It looks great, as good as in the picture.
Highly recommended.
