Safety is Our Priority

All DaVinci Baby products meet or exceed US and Canadian safety standards. Our full-size cribs are JPMA-certified, and all of our furniture meets voluntary ASTM standards in addition to CPSC regulations.

We Surpass the Standards

We strive to provide the safest possible environment for baby, and are proud of the quality we have achieved and maintain.

Materials

Our cribs, dressers and changers are made of New Zealand pine wood from sustainable forests. This is one of the most sustainable and renewable wood resources, and its forests are expanding, increasing total wood production annually.

Our gliders use eco-friendly Malaysian Hevea Wood.

Some of the panels of our products also use CARB II-compliant MDF and 100% wood veneers.

Stains & Paints

Our products are all formaldehyde and lead safe; the formaldehyde level for all of our furniture is undetectable.

Paint is considered safe when it has toxic materials under 300 parts per million (ppm). In order for a company to claim low toxicity, it must have no more than 90 ppm. DaVinci Baby products come in at less than 10ppm.

We perform annual paint tests in order to maintain consistent quality, exceeding JPMA regulations.

Full-Size Cribs

JPMA-certified / Meets ASTM F1169 / Meets 16 CFR 1219

Mattress supports are metal and springs, which provide optimum support.

Metal inserts with lock washers and self-locking nuts are used, instead of wood screws.

Each slat withstands at least 135lbs of pressure, exceeding the minimum requirement of 80 lbs. Slats are a maximum of 2 3/8" apart.

After JPMA-certification, 25% of our full-size crib models are tested quarterly to adhere to all guidelines and remain active participants of the JPMA Certification Program.

Stop using our full-size cribs when your child begins to climb or reaches 35"

Full-size crib mattresses should be at least 51.625" x 27.25", with thickness not exceeding 6" and with a minimum of 4"

Our bassinet/cradles are a minimum of 7.5" in height with a maximum of 2 3/8" (6cm) between each slat.

There is no maximum weight for bassinets as every baby grows at a different rate. We recommend to stop using the product when the baby is able to push up on hands and knees.

Changers & Dressers

Meets ASTM F2388 (changing tables) / Meets ASTM F2057 (dressers)

All of our changing and dressers include an optional anti-tip kit, to help secure the item to the wall as a form of safety enhancement.

Some of the major requirements for Changer and Dresser standards include testing for structural integrity, tip-proof stability with anti-tip kit, barriers, entrapment and enclosed openings and shelves.

Our changing tables have a maximum weight capacity of 30 lbs

Quality Control

All our products are sent to a 3rd party CPSC-certified lab for testing to ensure compliance with ASTM standards.

After JPMA-certification, 25% of our full-size crib models are tested quarterly to adhere to all guidelines and remain active participants of the JPMA Certification Program.

We perform annual paint tests to ensure consistent quality, exceeding JPMA regulations.

We have created our own rigorous quality control program to stay ahead of industry standards. A quality control team at our production site individually checks and hand packs each piece to ensure the highest quality of craftsmanship before products leave our factory doors. Items are inspected and assembled again by another team upon arrival in the US.

Commitment

DaVinci is part of MDB's family of brands, and just like with your own family, safety is our main concern across the board. For us, safety does not stop or start with recalls; for the past 22 years and long before the establishment of any formal safety commissions or legislations, we've been committed to establishing processes and systems that ensure you receive only the safest products.

We've been working with the same two factories who share in our sense of commitment to safety and quality. Together, we developed an extensive system of quality control checks throughout the production process, ranging from product sourcing, to production line, to final checks before any product leaves our warehouse. This extensive process ensures that our products meet not only the JPMA, ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials), Health Canada and all current CPSC regulations, but also satisfy our staunch commitment to safety and quality.
