Safety is our priority, and our internal testing standards exceed the industry standards, from slat strength to the materials we use. In addition, all of our furniture meets voluntary ASTM standards, in addition to federal CPSC regulations. We strive to provide the safest possible environment for baby, and are proud of the quality we have achieved and maintain.

Slats/spindles static load strengths 135+ lbs 80 lbs
Total lead content in paint <.001% <.009%
Total lead content in surface coating <.001% <.009%
Total lead content in substrate <.001% <.01%

Our furniture is made from New Zealand Pine wood from sustainable forests. One of the most renewable wood resources, New Zealand Pine forests are expanding, with wood production increasing annually.

We perform annual paint tests in order to maintain consistent quality. Paint is considered safe when its toxic materials are under 300 parts per million (ppm). In order to claim low toxicity, products must have no more than 90 ppm. DaVinci Baby products come in at less than 10ppm.

All our products are formaldehyde and lead safe; the formaldehyde level for all of our furniture is undetectable.

We offer a selection of full-size and mini-cribs that are GREENGUARD Gold certified. GREENGUARD Certified products help reduce indoor air pollution and chemical exposure.

Tested for over 10,000 chemicals, our cribs are certified as low-emitting and healthier for indoor environments.

Why is Indoor Air Quality Important?

Air pollution levels are 2-5 times higher indoors than outdoors
Indoor spaces are often filled with volatile organic compounds (VOCs), chemicals that are released into the air from everyday products such as furniture.

People spend 90% of their time indoors
Once airborne, VOCs are inhaled by occupants. As a result, people receive over 70% of their environmental exposure to chemicals indoors.

Poor indoor air quality can impact your health
Asthma, allergies, respiratory disease, eye/nose/throat irritation, reproductive/developmental defects, neurological disease, cardiovascular disease, and some forms of cancer have all been linked to poor indoor air quality.

What Does GREENGUARD Gold Certification Mean?

GREENGUARD Gold Certified products are compliant with stringent emission levels for over 360 VOCs, plus a limit on the total of all chemical emissions combined (TVOC).

Independently tested
Products are tested for more than 10,000 chemicals in state-of-the art steel chambers. All testing procedures comply with applicable STM and ISO standards. Products undergo annual testing to remain certified.

Safer for children
GREENGUARD Gold Certification includes safety factors to account for sensitive individuals, such as children and the elderly. GREENGUARD Gold helps ensure products are acceptable for use in environments such as schools and healthcare facilities

What is the California Proposition 65 Warning?
California Proposition 65 requires warning labels on products that could possibly contain any of the more than 800 chemicals or ingredients that the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) considers harmful. This list includes a multitude of naturally occurring and synthetic chemicals. The listed chemicals may also be used in manufacturing and construction, or they may be byproducts of chemical processes.

Since there is always a possibility that our products or packaging materials could have been exposed to some of the hundreds of ingredients listed in Prop 65, we must include this warning below on select products:

"WARNING: This product can expose you to chemicals including Antimony trioxide, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer, and Ethylene glycol, which is known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov."

The products that require this warning are pads, mattresses, and products that come with cushions or pad. In the case of cradles, mini cribs, and changers, the warning is regarding the included pad, and not the furniture. We can assure you that all our cribs and wooden furniture are tested to meet all required CPSC and ASTM standards, which include testing for formaldehyde, phthalates, heavy metals such as lead, and other at-risk substances.

As a family company committed to safety, we test all our products on a yearly basis to ensure that they are safe to use.

Our products meet current CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) standards and CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) 101 and 108. These acts regulate lead and phthalate levels in children’s products, and all our products are lead and phthalate safe.

We are compliant with the most current voluntary standards and federal regulations, and even have our own safety metrics that go well beyond State and Federal requirements. Please rest assured that at DaVinci, we will always continue to strive for the very best in quality and safety for your family.
